Dr. Madison Aitken is an associate scientist and clinical child and adolescent psychologist in the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression at CAMH. She is also assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She received her PhD in School and Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at CAMH in the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program.
Areas of Research
Dr. Aitken’s research focuses on understanding transdiagnostic factors in the development and treatment of child and adolescent mental health problems. She is especially interested in ways to improve parent-adolescent relationships when adolescents are experiencing mental health difficulties. She uses a variety of research approaches, including clinical trials, meta-analysis, and secondary analyses of clinical and epidemiological datasets with longitudinal and latent variable modeling. Her current research is supported by the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression, the CAMH Foundation, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
